US patents for Websense technologies

Coimbatore, March 29

The United States Patent and Trademark Office has awarded two patents to Websense for Internet Intelligence. These technologies are expected to help organisations protect themselves from threats to information security and employee productivity arising from unmanaged use of the Web or unauthorised applications.

By leveraging the technologies protected by these patents, Websense software is being constantly updated with Internet and employee usage intelligence to provide protection to customers, the company has said in a release. The patented technologies are components of the Websense ThreatSeeker technology unveiled in October last. In addition to proprietary processes and systems used by ThreatSeeker to decipher emerging and complex threats, these technologies would provide an additional layer of feedback intelligence from customers to enhance their Web security.
