Entrepreneurship States - Andhra Pradesh AP prepares Business Frame of enterprises K.V. Kurmanath
Hyderabad April 1 Perhaps for the first time in the country, the Andhra Pradesh Government has conducted a micro-level `Business Frame' of all the business enterprises with 10 or more employees. "The list of enterprises spread across the State will be of great use for businesses, companies, government and researchers while drafting business plans and policies," Dr Saroja Rama Rao, Director, Directorate of Economics and Statistics, told Business Line. The `Business Frame' comprises addresses (including phone, fax and e-mail id) and the main attributes of the enterprises. Nearly half (22,007) of the 44,472 business enterprises are located in the Telangana region. While the Coastal Andhra region is home to 16,112 enterprises, the Ralayaseema region is found to have 6,353 units. Hyderabad district tops the list with 4,920 enterprises, while the backward Adilabad district with 838 is at the bottom of the list. The `Business Frame' also gives a break-up of enterprises in rural and urban areas. In the rural segment, the Telangana region is ahead with 10,880 enterprises, followed by Coastal Andhra with 8,570 and Rayalaseema with 2,719. "The frame will be handy for those who want to know about the concentration (or lack of it) of a particular trade/business in a particular location," she said.
