Mangalore April 8 The Suryakiran Formation Aerobatic Team of the Indian Air Force displayed its prowess at Panambur beach in Mangalore on Sunday. Held for the first time in Mangalore, the event attracted crowds from Dakshina Kannada and neighbouring districts. Led by Wing Commander Mr Sandeep Bansal, the team enthralled spectators for 25 minutes each in the morning and evening. Though the morning session was limited to a three-aircraft display, nine aircrafts exhibited their skills in the evening. Speaking to presspersons later, the Wing Commander, Mr Bansal, said that the main aim of the Suryakiran team is to showcase the skills of the Indian Air Force to the people and to enthuse the youth to join the armed forces. Mr Prakash Magdum, Defence Spokesperson of Government of India, said that the Suryakiran team has been arranging the show in various parts of the country to mark the 75th year of IAF. The next display will be held in Kochi on April 14 and 15, Thiruvananthapuram on April 17 and 18, Chennai on April 21 and 22, and Madurai on April 24 and 25.
