Trade & Labour Unions Tripartite meet today: HM union Our Bureau
Ms Soni Shrivastav, General Manager, Corporate Communication, CK Birla Group, said, "So far we have not received the letter. Our condition has always been that there should be law and order before holding any talks with the unions." "Where is the environment for a talk? Mr Debasish Mukhopadhyay, an engineer at the Uttarpara plant, has been beaten by the striking workers in front of the entire police force and has been admitted to hospital. There cannot be any discussion in such an environment," Ms Shrivastav said. She, however, added, "The moment law and order is restored we are ready to discuss issues with trade unions. The plant will also be re-opened."
