Shipping German shipping line sails to India Our Bureau
Deutsche Afrika-Linien (DAL), the German shipping line, is to enter the Indian market as also Asia for the first time in its 82-year history by participating as a vessel operator in New Europe Mascarene Oceania (Nemo) service in partnership with CMA CGM, the French shipping giant. DAL will offer export services from Port Kelang to Chennai, Colombo, Djibouti, Jeddah, Damietta, La Spezia, Tilbury and Hamburg and import services into Port Kelang from New Zealand, Australia and Jakarta. In addition to the import-export services, a comprehensive transhipment service will also be offered to major Mediterranean ports. DAL now operates liner services between North Europe/the Mediterranean and south and east Africa; and the Indian Ocean. The Nemo service will offer the extension to South-East Asia, New Zealand and Australia. The shipping line also participates in various cross trades to complement its liner services.
