The denizens of Kolkata will now have a one-stop-shop for furnishing their homes following the launch of Homeland, a specialty home appliances mall promoted by the Merlin Group. Inaugurated today by Mr Ashok Bhattacharya, Minister for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Homeland houses nearly 150 retail outlets dealing with home and office appliances. Mr Sushil Mohta, Managing Director of the Merlin Group, said: "There was an urgent need for a place where one can shop for homemaking and office products without any hassles. Homeland will look after this need."
