Shree Renuka net down at Rs 23 cr

Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd has reported a net profit of Rs 22.90 crore for the second quarter ended March 31, 2007 which is less than half of the net profit of Rs 45.20 crore reported for the corresponding year-ago quarter. Falling sugar prices impacted sales realisations. The company posted an income of Rs 304.20 crore against Rs 236.80 crore last year, 28.8 per cent higher, year-on-year. For the half year ended March 31, 2007, the net profit stood at Rs 33.50 crore against Rs 66.30 crore same period last year. Total income was Rs 441.80 crore against Rs 442.50 crore. Stocks on the BSE were down 3.15 per cent at Rs 439.15 on Monday.
