GNFC profit up 10.77% for full year

Bharuch (Gujarat) May 5 Fertilisers and chemicals major Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Company Ltd today announced that its PAT has gone up by 10.77 per cent and said it would pay dividend at the rate of Rs 4.25 per share.

Announcing the results for the financial year ended March 31, 2007, the Chairman, Mr S.G. Mankad, said the board of directors has recommended a dividend of 42.5 per cent on increased share capital of Rs 155.42 crore.

The highest-ever total sales turnover of Rs 2,956.67 crore (Rs 2,281.33 crore in 2005-06) was up 29.6 per cent, while the profit before tax of Rs 489.39 crore (Rs 446.56 crore) was up 9.59 per cent. Similarly, the profit after tax of Rs 326.47 crore (Rs 294.72 crore) was higher by 10.77 per cent, according to an official release here.

The company also declared the highest-ever earnings per share of Rs 21.01 (Rs 20.12), up 4.42 per cent.

The Managing Director, Mr Balwant Singh, said that the fourth quarter results achieved the highest-ever quarterly sales of Rs 864.8 crore and PBT of Rs 160 crore. PAT was higher by Rs 18.85 crore or 20.19 per cent at Rs 112.18 crore.

The financials of the current quarter and the fiscal year, included figures of erstwhile Narmada Chematur Petrochemicals Ltd, a subsidiary of the company, which has amalgamated with it.
