Mangalore, May 7

Mr P. Tamilvanan, Chairman of New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT), inaugurated a new weighbridge on Tannirbhavi Road near New Mangalore Port on Sunday. According to a press release here on Monday, the weighbridge is managed and maintained by Bhoruka Steel Ltd, Bangalore, and HML Agencies (P), Mangalore. Hitherto, the exporters and transporters had to get their cargo weighed 20 km away from the port, thus exposing them to the risk of pilferage and misappropriation. With the inauguration of the weighbridge, the users can ascertain the exact quantity reaching New Mangalore Port, the release added.
