`Work on Machilipatnam port soon'

The State Government will see to it that work on the Machilipatnam port begins soon. Addressing a press conference here on Monday after assuming charge as Minister for Infrastructure and Investments, Ports, Airports and Natural Gas, Mr M. Venkata Ramana Rao, hoped that the Gangavaram Port too, would be completed as scheduled. "We will focus on developing ports and airports in the State," he said, and added that the State was witnessing huge growth in infrastructure. The Minister presented papers to APIIC (Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation) for the development of a township in Maheshwaram mandal in neighbouring Rangareddy district.
