Shipping Turbulence ahead K.K. Mustafah
PASSENGERS DISEMBARK from m.v. Tipu Sultan onto a boat at one of the Lakhsadweep islands. With the approaching monsoon, the hardship of Lakshadweep passengers is bound to worsen. All transport vessels of the Lakshadweep administration, except the all-weather ships m.v. Tipu Sultan and m.v. Bharat Seema, will be taken off service from May 15. With the seas turning choppy in the monsoon, and no berthing place for ships at any of the 11 inhabited islands, Lakshadweep passengers face bleak days ahead.
