Chennai to host global wheat milling seminar

Our Bureau

Mumbai May 8 An international short course-cum-seminar on flour milling will be held in Chennai during May 28-30. Organised by the Kansas State University's Department of Grain Science and Industry along with the Milling and Baking Forum, the course will discuss latest trends in flour milling with expert speakers from the US as also consultants sharing their knowledge and expertise with participants.

Opportunity

According to Assocom India, the event organiser, the course will be an excellent opportunity for people from wheat milling and related industries to learn about important quality factors associated with wheat and flour as also how they impact the final product performance. The course is designed for the Indian wheat industry.

Despite being the world's second largest producer, India is an importer of wheat since last year to meet domestic needs. Consumers are increasingly becoming quality conscious.

The domestic roller flourmills are upgrading their quality systems.
