French bank Governor in India

New Delhi, May 14

The Governor of the Banque de France, Mr Christian Noyer, is currently in India on a five-day official visit for a series of meetings in the financial capital Mumbai and here to discuss the bilateral issues on banking.

Mr Noyer, who is here at the invitation of his Indian counterpart, Dr Y.V. Reddy, started his visit with a bilateral meeting with the Reserve Bank of India in Mumbai on Monday. He is also scheduled to meet the Finance Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, in New Delhi during his visit, a statement issued here by the French Embassy said.

In Mumbai and Delhi, Mr Noyer would hold discussions with Indian business leaders and representatives of French Groups in India. The Banque de France is the Central Bank of France.
