Airtel, Reliance cut lifetime pre-paid cost

Users will have to make calls worth Rs 200 every 6 mths

New Delhi May 17 Bhatri Airtel on Thursday took the fight in the pre-paid card segment a notch higher by dropping the upfront cost of a lifetime pre-paid card to Rs 495 from the existing offer of Rs 999. In response, Reliance Communications also reduced its cost of lifetime offer by 50 per cent to Rs 499.

While in Airtel's Rs 999 lifetime pre-paid card, users had to make a minimum of only one call in six months to keep the connection alive, users of the new Rs 495 card will have to make calls worth a minimum of Rs 200 every 180 days.

The new card will be available from May 18.
