Architecture co plans training institute

Mangalore May 17 The Bangalore-based Gayathri & Namith Architects (GNA) Pvt Ltd is planning to set up a training institute to provide postgraduate courses for architects and engineers.

Addressing presspersons here, Mr Namith Varma, Director, said that as part of a long-term strategy the firm is planning to establish a training institute that will provide postgraduate courses for architects and engineers along with research and development opportunities, especially in the fields of `Vastushastra' and energy conservation. It has completed the first phase of land acquisition for the project near Mysore.

The first batch of the course will begin by 2009, and the firm is planning to provide `guru kul' system of training to students, he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Vasudevan R. Kadalayil, Chief Operating Officer, said that the firm has won three national and four south zone-level awards in the last quarter.

Apart from various projects across the country, the firm has expanded its operations to overseas with an industrial housing project in the UAE and designer homes in the US.
