Exide bags TERI award

Exide Industries Ltd, the premium battery maker, has received the TERI Corporate Environmental Award for 2006-07, says a Press release.

The award, which is given out by The Energy & Resources Institute (TERI), was presented by Mr P. Chidambaram, Union Finance Minister, to Mr S.B. Ganguly, Chairman Emeritus of Exide Industries, today.

Mr Ganguly said, "What makes us proud today is the fact that we have received this award for our initiatives in environmental management, an area which we are very focused upon. The award is a recognition to all our employees, especially at our plant in Hosur," the release added.
