Pursues more implementation orders from other States

Hyderabad May 24 Praman Allianz Technologies Ltd, a Hyderabad-based IT services provider, has signed up with Srei Capital Markets Ltd, a strategic division of Srei, to set up nearly 10,000 common service centres.

These centres would mainly come up in West Bengal and Bihar and the effort now is directed at partnering and pursuing more implementation orders from other States in the country.

Capacity Building

The Central Government had planned to establish about one-lakh common service centres in the country, with one centre serving about six villages. It has earmarked Rs 500 crore for the current fiscal for the project that seeks to reach out services to rural parts of the country. It is proposed to offer about 64 services through these centres.

Addressing a press conference here today, the Chief Executive Officer of Praman Allianz, Mr Kumar Venkat, along with other directors, said that the rural transformation project seeks to empower targeted communities providing impetus to the rural economy.

This would be by strengthening, capacity building and effective services delivery through better governance. The project seeks to build on the kiosk franchisee model and micro enterprise approach wherein the local people become stakeholders of such centres created.

Expanding

Praman deploys technology services to enterprises in partnership with IBM. It is now in the process of bidding with Srei for projects in other States of the country, Mr Kumar Venkat said.

Efforts are now underway to tie up with the likes of Tata Sky, the direct to home services provider and Bharti Airtel for broadband, thereby expanding the scope of services offered through these centres, he explained.
