DRI officials visit Reliance SEZ

Our Bureau

New Delhi, May 28

Officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on Monday visited the Mukesh Ambani-promoted special economic zone (SEZ) at Jamnagar to ascertain the area used for setting up the export zone. "It was just a routine visit and no raid was conducted. Officials were visiting the offices to verify some documents," a spokesperson from the Central Board of Excise and Customs said.

The official added that it would be too premature to comment on what the outcome of the visit would yield. "The DRI conducted normal verification of SEZ area and non-SEZ area at the Reliance SEZ," company sources said. The company had recently received approval for setting up a multi-product SEZ in Jamnagar.
