RINL achieves record sales

Visakhapatnam, June 2

Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL) achieved record sales of Rs 1,294 crore during April and May this fiscal, registering a 21 per cent increase over Rs 1,068 crore during the corresponding period last financial year, according to a press release. The sale of 1.87 lakh tonnes of value-added steel during the period marked a growth of 62 per cent over last year's figure. The steel plant supplies special steel to the Indian Railways. The sale of value-added steel in the total volume is 46 per cent. Exports accounted for Rs 75 crore during the period. The sale of 2,038 tonnes of steel during May to district dealers is the highest achieved by the plant in a month so far, adds the release.
