India-Brazil CEOs Forum to be set up

Chennai June 3 An MoU to form an India-Brazil CEOs Forum is among the seven agreements to be signed between India and Brazil during the visit of a Brazilian business delegation led by the country's President, Mr Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, that is in India for a week.

The MoU for the CEOs Forum will be signed by Mr Ratan Tata, Chairman, Tata Sons Ltd, from the Indian side and Mr Jose Sergio Gabrielli, President and CEO of Petrobras, from the Brazilian side.

The other agreements include: a Heads of Agreement between ONGC, OVL and Petrobras, which will be signed by Mr R.S. Sharma, Chairman, ONGC, Mr R.S.Butola, Managing Director, OVL and Mr. José Sergio Gabrielli de Azevedo, President and CEO of Petrobras; NCAER (National Council for Applied Economic Research) and IPEA (Institute of Applied Economic Research) of Brazil, which will be signed by Dr Suman Bery, Director, NCAER and Mr Luis Henrique Soares; Agreement on Mutual Assistance in Customs Matters to be be signed by the Chairman of Central Board of Excise and Customs, Mr S.K. Singhal and Mr Jorge Antonio Deher Rachid, General Secretary of Brazilian Internal Revenue Service; Agreement on Audio-Visual Co-production to be signed by Mr P. R. Dasmunsi, Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Mr. Celso Amorim, Foreign Minister ; Implementing Arrangement regarding Cooperation in Augmentation of Brazilian Earth Station for receiving and processing data from Indian Remote Sensing Satellites, to be signed by Mr G. Madhavan Nair, Secretary, Department of Space and Mr Celso Amorim, Brazilian Foreign Minister; and Academic Exchange Programme to be signed by Mr. Sukhadeo Thorat, Chairman, UGC and Dr Jorge de Almeida Guimares, President of CAPES.
