Online Marketing Industry & Economy - Two/Three Wheelers Info-Tech - Internet eBay India Motors to sell second-hand three-wheelers Mayur N. Shah
Mumbai June 4 eBay India Motors (http://b2bmotors.ebay.in), an online auction marketplace for sale of second-hand cars, bikes, tractors and commercial vehicles in India, has plans to now auction second-hand three-wheelers. Furthermore, the company has a chain of 8,000 second-hand dealers present across 225 cities in India that it now intends to double it up by the end of 2008, said Mr Amit Bhartiya, Director, eBay India Motors. The company started selling second-hand vehicles in 2002, and was then known as bazee.com. Moreover, the three-wheeler market has matured over the years with the segment growing by 19.90 per cent in 2006-07 over the corresponding year, thus, generating growth for new sales and volume in the second-hand market. In the second-hand market, there are dealers (organised and unorganised sector) for cars, two-wheelers and even commercial vehicles but the three-wheeler dealers in this segment are few in number. The company intends tapping on this niche market; it would ideally coincide with the growing number of dealers (16,000) it plans to have by the end of next year. The B2B motors marketplace on eBay India, is an independent and neutral platform, which provides a level playing field to all buyers on the platform, thereby, eliminating intermediary costs along with a reduction in holding costs and turnaround time.
