Off-shore Development Zensar opens Poland centre Our Bureau
Pune June 4 Zensar Technologies, IT and business process outsourcing services provider, has announced the opening of its Polish operation, based in the City of Gdańsk the first of its kind centre in Poland, opened by an Indian outsourcing company. According to Mr Ganesh Natarajan, Deputy Chairman and Managing Director, the centre would create 350 new jobs in its first 30 months of operation. This is the latest addition to the company's network of consulting and software development centres in the US, the UK, Singapore, Tokyo, China, South Africa and India. He said: "We are viewing Poland as a major investment centre for research, education and development and are planning to invest over $2 million in developing global delivery capabilities in this country. We are confident that Poland will be a significant hub in our Europe strategy in the coming years.'' Zensar, whose European headquarters is in Slough, UK, now employs more than 3,700 people across 24 sites globally with nearly 200 people based in the UK and Europe. Mr Natarajan said recruitment had begun at the centre with a team of 23 Polish engineers sent to Pune, to receive three months in-depth training and understanding of the company's product suite so they can immediately lead the operations back in Poland. "We will offer the entire range of Zensar solutions in Eastern Europe and the Gdańsk centre will have all the skills to deliver world-class capabilities to Eastern and Western Europe. The hospitality and support we have received from the people of Gdańsk has been overwhelming and we are confident that this will be a very successful investment and partnership today and in the future,'' Mr V. Balasubramaniam, Senior Vice-President and Global Head of InnovativeTechnology Solutions for Zensar, said.
