Mumbai, June 5

Elara Capital Plc, the UK-based mid-market cross border investment bank, announced on Tuesday the closure of its first fund raise and listing in the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) of London Stock Exchange. The Indian advisor to the transaction was Access Financial Services, a boutique investment banking and advisory firm. The company has raised £55 million for the TV18 Group-promoted The Indian Film Company (IFC).

The IFC will invest in production and Intellectual Property Rights of Indian films. The company would begin with a basket of 14 film projects. "We have closed the fund raising of the IFC and will be listing in the AIM on June 18. This is the first outside India listing for any enterprise of the TV 18 Group and we are excited to be in a position to invest substantial capital in the maturing market of Indian filmdom," said Mr Raghav Behl, Chairman of TV 18 Group in a release.
