PSL gets in-principle nod for SEZ

Our Bureau

Mumbai June 8 The Mumbai-based infrastructure and construction company PSL Ltd has received an in-principle approval from the Union Government for establishing `Alternative Energy and Energy Ancillaries' special economic zone (SEZ) at Pipavav in Gujarat.

The proposed SEZ, which will be on PSL-owned land adjacent to Pipavav port, is to be dedicated primarily to alternative energy products and services such as biodiesel, solar power, ethanol and wind generation.

Mr Ashok Punj, Managing Director, PSL Ltd, said: "One of the main reasons for early approval was because the majority of the land required for SEZ development is already under PSL ownership and occupation."
