Public Sector Banks Marketing - New Products & Services States - Andhra Pradesh SBH launches `Express Clearing' Our Bureau
Hyderabad June 10 To facilitate faster credits, State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) has introduced `Express Clearing' in its 104 branches in Hyderabad and Secunderabad. "Express Clearance is the first of a number of programmes lined up for the next couple of months to provide higher comfort levels to the customers. While the cheques drawn on any branch of our bank can be cleared on the same day, instruments drawn on other local banks would be cleared within one working day," Mr R.P. Sinha, Chief General Manager, SBH, told newspersons here on Thursday. All 104 branches of the bank in the twin cities would have a drop box. "Further, a jumbo box is kept at the service branch in Abids here which would be cleared once in every half an hour for processing cheques and DDs," he said. Within a month, the offering would be extended to other parts of the State in a phased manner, he added. On an average, the bank would clear over 20,000 cheques per day. To improve draft facility, 10 branches of SBH, including those at Panjagutta, SR Nagar, Sultan Bazar, Mehdiptnam would issue demand drafts (on non-cash transactions only) between 5 and 7 p.m., Mr Sinha said. The bank was in the process of completing `business process re-engineering' soon, he added.
