New Delhi June 13 Honda Motors and Scooters India on Wednesday said that it is planning new offerings in the bike and scooter segment in the coming two years. The company plans to launch a new scooter model by the end of the current fiscal and a 125 cc motorcycle possibly in the first half of next year. "We plan to bring in motorcycle in the 100 cc segment in the coming three years," said Mr Shinji Aoyama, President and CEO HMSI, explaining that it takes about two years for Honda to bring out a new product. Mr Aoyoma who had been heading oversees operations of Honda till now, took charge of HMSI in the first week of June. He said the company was chalking out strategy to introduce its popular high-end bikes in the domestic market that could cost about Rs 10 lakh per unit, adding that high import duty was a major constraint. ``We are presently studying when to launch high-end bikes like CBR 1000 and Gold Wing in India but have not decided on any fixed time-frame,'' Mr Aoyama said. HMSI also said that it would invest Rs 400 crore in the coming four years to increase its production capacity and for new launches.
