Airlines Air India eyes growth in revenue with merger Our Bureau
Mumbai June 15 The Chairman and Managing Director, Air India, Mr V. Thulasidas, told newspersons here on Friday, the revenues for the airline in the last financial year has been Rs 9,500 crore and with the merged airline, it is expected to touch Rs 16,000 crore. In terms of passenger traffic, he said the airline has registered a growth of 4-5 per cent. Currently, Mr Thulasidas said the load factor of the airline is more than 75 per cent and it stands at 30th position in world rankings of airlines in terms of revenue. The airline expects to upgrade its ranking to 20s with the new fleet of Boeing 777s and the merger of Indian Airlines and Air India, in the next three years, he added. Air India along with Boeing is also in the process of finalising the third partner for Nagpur MRO facility.
