Dhar given additional charge of CMD, DCI

Visakhapatnam, June 28 Mr A.K. Dhar, Director, Finance, has been given the additional charge of the Chairman and Managing Director of Dredging Corporation of India Ltd here from this week.

The Union Ministry of Shipping ,Road Transport and Highways in a letter entrusted the additional charge to Mr Dhar and relieved Mr K. Ratna Kishore, Chairman of the Visakhapatnam Port Trust.

Mr Kishore had been in-charge of the DCI since November, 2006, when Mr N.K. Guptha retired from the post after a full term of five years.

Mr Dhar will function as the CMD for a period of three months or till appointment of a regular CMD, or until further orders.

Further, Mr Rakesh Srivastava, Joint Secretary (Ports), and Mr Prabhakar, Deputy Secretary (Finance) , have been appointed part-time official Directors on the Board of Directors of DCI in place of Mr A.K. Bhalla and Mr P.C. Dhiman, Joint Secretaries, who have been transferred from the department.

DCI is executing the Sethusamudram channel project and is engaged in dredging works in several ports.
