Corporation Bank targets Rs 100 cr for education loan

Mangalore, June 29 Corporation Bank — which had an outstanding of Rs 269 crore in the education loan portfolio in the last fiscal — intends to disburse additional Rs 100 crore during the current fiscal, according to Mr K.L. Gopalakrishna, Executive Director of Corporation Bank.

Addressing presspersons at the launch of ‘Online request facility for CorpVidya (education loan product)’ in Mangalore on Friday, he said that the bank has 16,571 CorpVidya accounts and the number of accounts has seen a good growth in the past two years.

“The bank intends to disburse another Rs 100 crore during the current fiscal so that no deserving and meritorious student should be denied of an opportunity of pursuing professional education,” he said.
