Cranes Soft buys Proland, Caravel

Bangalore, June 30 Cranes Software has acquired the Bangalore-based anti-virus software maker Proland Systems Ltd, and Caravel Info Systems.

Cranes has spent Rs 20 crore towards the acquisition cost of Proland and the immediate investments in product enhancement. Similarly, it has spent Rs 10 crore for Caravel.]

NET rises

For the year-ended March 31, 2007, Cranes reported a net profit of Rs 87.12 crore on revenues of Rs 284.85 crore compared with a net of Rs 62.49 crore on revenues of Rs 210.9 crore in the corresponding period last year.

The Cranes board recommended a dividend of 50 per cent (Re 1 per share on par value of Rs 2), which included a special dividend of 30 per cent
