Spices & Condiments Lack of buying support hits pepper
G.K. Nair Kochi, July 3 Pepper futures fell on Tuesday on reports of decline in Vietnam prices and lack of buying support. Bearish activities also said to have contributed to the decline. However, the prices for Asta grade pepper continued to rule firm at all origins in the world. Indian prices for this grade remained competitive. There was no selling pressure in the primary markets and hence spot prices ruled firm at previous levels. FUTURES POSITION
July contract on NCDEX on Tuesday declined by Rs 69 a quintal to Rs 15,173. The fall in other contracts was from Rs 46 to Rs 145 a quintal. On NMCE, July contract dropped by Rs 195 a quintal to Rs14,700. The decline in other contracts was from Rs 125 to Rs 168 a quintal. Spot prices ruled steady on Tuesday at Rs 14,200 (un-garbled) and Rs 14,800 (MG 1).
