Veta sets up corporate training unit

Archana Venkat

Chennai, July 3 English training institute Veta has set up a corporate training division within the company that will handle customised training for companies, conduct general workshops, seminars and symposia and train students for campus interviews.

The company is putting together separate team of trainers for this division at each of its over 100 centres spread across 16 States. Corporate training will cover areas such as English language, soft skills, communication, body language and presentation. Additionally, campus training will focus on personality development, conflict management, stress and time management.

Until recently, the company offered these services on demand in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

It now aims to go pan-India through the newly set up division, said Mr Suresh Subramaniam, General Manager-Business Verticals, Veta. The soft skills training market is estimated at Rs 15,000 crore and is growing at about 30 per cent annually, he said.

“Companies allot 2-3 per cent of their revenues towards soft skills training each year and we see this going up to 5 per cent in future. We would like to tap this market and garner one per cent market share in a few years,” he told Business Line.
