Our Bureau

Chennai, July 5

SHL India, part of the UK-based multinational SHL Group that offers objective assessment tests based on psychometrics, plans to set up an office in Chennai or Bangalore to cater to demand from South Indian corporates, according to Mr Y.V.L. Pandit, Managing Director.

The company has offices in Mumbai and New Delhi and offers tests to help recruit and retain the right talent in companies.

The tests comprise online personality tests, motivation tests, cognitive tests and simulation exercises.

A candidate who has undergone such a test can be assigned the job best suited to, depending on the analysis of the results. The company has about 250 clients in India, including TVS Motors and the UB Group. "About 20 per cent of Indian companies use some form of psychometric tests while recruiting candidates. We see this going up to 40 per cent in the next five years,” he said.
