Our Bureau New Delhi, July 23 Dabur India Ltd, reported an increase of 36.30 per cent in its net profit for the first quarter ending June 30, 2007, at Rs 54.06 crore, up from Rs 39.66 crore in the same period previous year. The company also recorded a growth of 32.60 per cent in its net sales for Q1, at Rs 445.31 crore (Rs 335.81 crore) . The company reported double-digit growths across key FMCG categories. While Dabur’s oral care brands continued their growth momentum through the first quarter with its toothpaste growing by nearly 27 per cent. The health supplements category also continued to grow at around 30 per cent during the quarter. Dabur’s baby and skin care range reported a 26 per cent growth. Dabur India (consolidated) posted a 31 per cent growth in net profit in the first quarter at Rs 62.2 crores, as against Rs 48.2 crores in the same period last year. Its turnover for the quarter saw a growth of 20 per cent to Rs 570.9 crores, from Rs 475.5 crores in the same period previous year. The foods business that was merged into the mother organisation posted a growth of 37.5 per cent in sales during the first quarter of the financial year, with Real fruit juices reporting a near 40 per cent.
