Celebrity Fashions may hive off export unit

Chennai, July 27 Celebrity Fashions Ltd may hive off its export division into a separate entity.

“The move will enable us to give greater focus to the core business of each divisions and to strengthen competencies, raise further funds at a later date for growth of the respective businesses and also will facilitate more transparent benchmarking with its peers,” said Mr S. Suriyanarayanan, Executive Director of the company.

However, according him, the mode and structure of segregation of the division will be decided after considering the taxation and other regulatory aspects and approvals required for the aforesaid separation. For the quarter ended June 30, the company has reported total operational revenues of Rs 80.50 crore, and posted a net loss of Rs 5.86 crore against a net profit of Rs 1.02 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The revenues from the export division stood at Rs 69.40 crore (Rs 64.7 crore)
