HR meet to tap engg talent

Our Bureau

Hyderabad, July 29 With the demand supply mismatch for IT talent pool projected to go up to about 5,00,000 people by 2010, Ecaira Consulting is seeking to bridge this gap in collaboration with industry players.

The Operations Manager of Ecaira Consulting, Mr Amal Enugu, said in their effort to bridge the gap for qualified talent, they plan to collaborate with a global community of subject matter experts (SMEs) across technologies offering knowledge services.

Skill development

Quoting Nasscom numbers, Mr Amal Enugu said while the Indian engineering schools churn out about 4,00,000 engineers a year, barely one in four of them has the skills required for employment in the technology sector. As part of the company’s efforts to harness talent, it seeks to refine these skills to make fresh engineers employable.

Speaking to Business Line, Mr Amal Enugu said that a meeting of engineering students and representatives of some of leading technology companies would be held here on July 30 at Green Park Hotel. This is expected to serve as a platform to tap talent.
