Credit Cards & Debit Cards ATM sharing facility for Vijaya Bank debit card holders
Our Bureau Bangalore, Aug. 2 Debit card account holders of Vijaya Bank can now enjoy the convenience of using ATMs (Automated Teller Machines) operated by other banks in addition to Vijaya Bank’s own machines. They can access from Friday 13,200 ATMs established by other banks in addition to Vijaya Bank’s 171. Under an agreement signed with the Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT), Hyderabad, Vijaya Bank can share the ATMs of other banks networked through National Financial Switch (NFS), said a bank release. The NFS network, set up and administered by IDRBT, currently has more than 25 member banks comprising 11 public sector and 15 private sector banks. The network covers ATMs spread across the country. Under the arrangement, more than 2,70,000 ATM-cum-debit card holders of Vijaya Bank can access any of the 13,200 shared ATMs and transact cash withdrawals up to Rs 15,000 per day besides making balance enquiries. Similarly, other banks’ cardholders can also transact at Vijaya Bank’s ATMs for cash withdrawals and balance enquiries. VIjaya Bank members would be charged Rs 15 per usage for cash withdrawals while it would be Rs 8 for balance enquiries, an official said. Vijaya Bank has implemented Core Banking Solution (CBS) and currently 475 of its 985 branches are networked through CBS, covering 81 per cent of the bank’s overall business. Even the rural branches of the bank have been covered under CBS through VSAT and Solar Power Generation for uninterrupted power supply.
