Zenta eyes buys in E. Europe, US

Moumita Bakshi Chatterjee

New Delhi, Aug. 9 Business Process Outsourcing firm Zenta is scouting for acquisitions in Eastern Europe and the US for multilingual capabilities and new services capabilities in real estate finance.

“We are looking at acquisitions outside India, particularly to penetrate the European market. We are not constrained by the finances as we can leverage up to $500 million,” Mr Jaswinder S. Ghumman, country manager of Zenta, said.

Earlier this year, H-Cube — formed in January 2005 through a partnership between Henry Hortenstine and GTCR Golder Rauner, a leading private equity firm — announced that it had changed its name to Zenta after integration of operations of its three subsidiaries.

The move followed H-Cube’s acquisition of Zenta Inc, Global Realty Outsourcing Inc, and Blackheath Financial Inc, all of which specialised in providing BPO and KPO services to the real estate and financial services industries.

The new Zenta integrated these three companies under a single brand, to offer customers a range of back office, voice and on-site support solutions such as loan processing and underwriting, credit card servicing, consumer lending, accounts receivable management, mortgage loan administration and real estate capital market analytics in the verticals such as commercial and residential real estate, consumer credit, insurance and financial services.

Zenta currently has 5,000 professionals on its rolls of which 4,600 employees are based in India and 250 in the US. Its centre in Chennai houses 1,600 professionals with another 3,000 professionals based in Mumbai. The Chennai centre focuses on data analytics work.
