Events Tata business quiz kicks off on Aug 11
Our Bureau Mumbai, Aug. 9 The ‘Tata Crucible-The Business Quiz 2007’ kicks off on August 11 in Chennai, the first in a series of 12 regional rounds that will culminate in the national final to be held in Mumbai late September. This year’s regional rounds will be held in 12 cities: Chennai, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Kochi, Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar, Bangalore, Pune, Indore Ahmedabad and Mumbai, a press release said. The contest, whose theme is ‘Battle Call for the Brightest Minds’, will be conducted by quiz master Mr Giri ‘Pickbrain’ Balasubramanian. The quiz will cover subjects ranging from business houses to brands, from creators of wealth to architects of industries, business history and business fundamentals, said a statement from the Tata group, many of whose companies are supporting the quiz. Companies or corporate organisations may send any number of two-member teams for participation. Individual teams may participate only in one of the 12 locations. There is no registration fee. A written elimination test for all the contestants will be held at each regional round. The top six teams from this test will qualify for the live stage round of the regional final. And the winning teams from the regional finals will participate in the national final. Total prizes of over Rs 30 lakh will be offered and the winning team will walk away with Rs 2 lakh and a trophy each. Contestants may register for participation at the contest’s official Web site www.tatacrucible.com.
