Bangalore, Aug. 17 Visitors to Singapore can soon look up to Digital Concierge, a technology based personalised service system that will not only guide visitors exercise judicious choice on places to visit and assist in shopping decisions but will also provide real-time information like latest retail promotions and event updates.

Singapore Tourism Board (STB) is working closely with the Infocomm Development Authority(IDA) of Singaporeto enhance the tourism sector’s competitiveness and efficiency through the use of infocomm and technology with the development of a Digital Concierge (DC). The system is expected to be ready next year.

Digital Concierge will offer every visitor to Singapore access to personalised information and services, anywhere and anytime, via mobile networked devices connected to the widely available ‘Wireless@SG’ or the existing mobile phone networks. While on the move, users can receive suggestions from Digital Concierge, on what to do, where to eat and where to shop when they are in Singapore.

Ms Sew-Kheng Kang , Regional Director-South Asia, Middle East and Africa, Singapore Tourism Board said “Digital Concierge(DC), aimed at enhancing the visitor experience in Singapore will not only benefit visitors and increase the service offerings to them, but also enhances the tourism industry’s business competitiveness, efficiency and growth. Visitors are not required to pay any fee to download or use the DC services. However, for some of the services that require data connectivity, there might be download charges (data and/or roaming) by their respective mobile service provider as applicable.
