Mangalore, Aug. 18

Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemical Ltd (MRPL) won a safety award for 2006 from the Directorate General Factory Advice Service and Labour Institutes under the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment. A company release said MRPL has been declared the winner under ‘Scheme II’ which denotes a year of accident-free performance. This safety award comes on the heels of the Oil Industry Safety Directorate (OISD) last month, it said. —
