Move for daily water supply in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Aug. 21 The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, has announced that the residents of the State capital would have daily supply of drinking water in the next six months.

Addressing a gathering before launching the Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Yatra at Charminar here on Monday, the Chief Minister said arrangements were being made to supply drinking water for at least 2-4 hours in all localities in the twin cities.

The campaign was organised to mark the 63rd birth anniversary of the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

Stating that there would be no housing problem in the State after two years. “By the end of 2009, all those who don’t have a house of their own will get a house,” he said.

New Energy Policy

Earlier in the day, addressing a meet that was organised to mark the Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Diwas (Renewable Energy Day), the Chief Minister said the State Government would soon come out with an energy policy.

This would encourage use of renewable energy sources such as wind, solar and biomass.
