Rubber Spot rubber prices turn weak
Aravindan Kottayam, Aug. 22 Spot rubber weakened on Wednesday. RSS 4 finished at Rs 85 a kg against Rs 86 a kg both at Kottayam and Kochi. A weak closing in global rubber kept the most active grades under pressure, sources said. There were few sellers in the trading centres as the market declined after gaining almost Rs 5.25 during the current bull-run. Major manufactures continued to stay inactive as there were no fresh quotes from the sector. The trend was mixed. Futures decline
The rubber futures declined sharply possibly on profit booking at higher levels breaking the initial daily downward limit of 2 per cent in all months on late trading. The September contract for RSS 4 fell to Rs 83.73 a kg from Rs 85.44 a kg on MCX. The September contract surrendered to Rs 84 (85.94), October to Rs 79.86 (82.25), November to Rs 79.43 (81.51) and December contract to Rs 79 (80.91) per kg. Spot prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 85 (86); RSS-5: 82.50 (82.50); ungraded: 80 (80.50); ISNR 20: 82.50 (82.50) and latex 60 per cent: 60.50 (60.50).
