New Delhi, Aug. 23

The investigation wing of the Income Tax department on Wednesday recovered Rs 4.92 crore cash in a search conducted on persons/concerns engaged in mobilising deposits for investment schemes and auto finance at Thane in Maharashtra.

An official release said that this was done based on specific intelligence inputs. The cash was found stacked in the residence of an employee of the main concern. Further investigations and scrutiny of seized documents are in progress, the release added. – Our Bureau
