Mumbai, Aug. 27 UTV Motion Pictures Plc has announced an agreement with the US-based TitleMatch Entertainment Group.

TitleMatch is a subsidiary of Protocall Technologies Incorporated and developer of the world’s first CSS-enabled DVD on-demand service for distribution of UTVMP film library among retailers and e-tailers in North America.

The agreement calls for films from UTV Motion Pictures library such as National Award winner & BAFTA nominated Rang De Basanti, Khosla Ka Ghosla, Taxi 9211, Life in a ... Metro, and Parineeta to be available on TitleMatch DVD on -demand service.

“We think TitleMatch is at the forefront of a very exciting new distribution model that can substantially increase the availability of our movies in the US retail market,” said Mr Siddharth Roy Kapur, Executive Vice-President-Marketing, Distribution & Syndication, UTV.

“Major retailers can use the TitleMatch service to tailor product selection by region or even by individual store location, which is ideal for us.”

“UTV is a major force in the multi-billion dollar market for Hindi and region-specific movies from India,” said Mr Syd Dufton, President of TitleMatch Entertainment Group.

“We believe there is a tremendous revenue opportunity with UTV in many geographic markets throughout the US where demand is particularly strong for movies from India. We are thrilled to be working with UTV and to make their movies available through the TitleMatch DVD on-demand service.”

The TitleMatch DVD on-demand service lets movie studios and retailers burn video content directly in stores and at Web site distribution centres at the time orders are placed.

At retail stores, consumers can browse and select available products from multi-media touch-screen display terminals located on the sales floor. Orders are produced behind the counter on the TitleMatch Factory by store personnel in minutes.

For online orders, consumers can browse and select available titles from an e-tailer’s Web site with orders produced at product distribution centres or store locations by using the system’s TitleMatch Factory. In recent months, TitleMatch has amassed one of the largest selections of movies from India for burn on-demand production at retail stores.

UTV Motion Pictures collaborates with top Hollywood studios such as Fox Searchlight, 20th Century Fox, and Will Smith’s Overbrooks and maintains strong talent relationships with such venerable talent like Mira Nair, N Night Shyamalan Chris Rock and Will Smith.
