Tell-tale melodies

The top guns of the public sector might put up a no-nonsense grim exterior, but the ringtones of their cell phones are a give-away of the lighter side of their personalities. Colleagues contacting CMDs on their mobiles have found romantic songs from the 1960s or slokas playing out before some take the call. Surprisingly, while the public sector bosses are inclined to have interesting ringtones, most of the private sector top brass prefer the normal ring. Even the flamboyant Vijay Mallya’s phone has no music for the callers, though Spice Jet officials play the company’s theme song.
