Gauge conversion to begin soon

Mangalore, Aug. 30

The Hubli division of South Western Railway (SWR) will close metre-gauge section of Bagalkot-Gadag line with effect from September 24, for undertaking the gauge conversion work. A press release by SWR said here that as a result of the closure of the above section, following four pairs of passenger trains stand cancelled from September 24 until further advice. The trains are: Train nos. 337/338 Bagalkot-Gadag-Bagalkot passenger; train nos. 339/340 Bagalkot-Gadag-Bagalkot passenger; train nos. 345/346 Bagalkot-Gadag-Bagalkot passenger; and train nos. BG-1/GB-1 Bagalkot-Gadag-Bagalkot passenger special. The total length of Bagalkot-Gadag line is 94 km. - Our Bureau
