Meet on renewable energy

Hyderabad, Aug. 30

The Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) would be organising a two-day seminar beginning on September 1 to discuss initiatives to promote comprehensive renewable energy package for educational and public institutions. "There are thousands of engineering and science colleges all over the country. But the agencies granting accreditations and funds to these educational institutions are not considering `power' as an important criterion," Dr P. Radhakrishna, Advisor and expert on renewable energy issues, said.

Addressing press conference here on Thursday, he felt that it should be made mandatory for the educational institutions to meet a good part of their energy requirements through renewable energy sources. - Our Bureau
