SBT bags award

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 31

State Bank of Travancore has won the national award for commercial banks for excellence in lending to the micro and small enterprises sector for 2006-07.

The award has been instituted by the Ministry for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises . SBT has won the national award for excellence in lending to the SSI sector consecutively for two years i.e. 2003-04 and 2004-05, a bank spokesman said here. The bank’s finance to small and medium enterprises sector as on March 31, 2007, was Rs 3433.71 crore, which represented a 41.22 per cent growth over that of the previous year. –
