Semiconductor association signs pact with Taiwanese body

To foster business relationship among member companies

New Delhi, Sept. 3 In a bid to enhance co-operation between India and Taiwan in the semiconductor space, the India Semiconductor Association (ISA) today signed a memorandum of understanding with the Taiwan Semiconductor Industry Association. The MoU focuses on developing business ties and exchanges between companies in the semiconductor industry in both the countries.

The MoU was signed by Mr S. Janakiraman, Chairman, India Semiconductor Association, and Dr Frank C. Huang, Chairman, Taiwan Semiconductor Industry Association, in Taiwan today.

“Our organisations have agreed to co-operate with each other on a number of activities, key among them being to encourage members to partner with one another in mutually beneficial activities relating to the semiconductor industry, to work together to promote international seminars and to assist company visits for trade delegations,” Mr Janakiraman said.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Huang said that his association saw immense potential for successful partnerships between member companies.

Both the countries have inherent strengths in this field and the industry can definitely forge a winning partnership, he added.

“Our key objective through this MoU is to foster business relationships among our member companies. Our two associations may represent each other on various issues to promote the interest of the semiconductor industries in our countries with prior consultation and agreement to such representation,” Ms Poornima Shenoy, President, India Semiconductor Association, said.
